Established in 2006, Sierra Education Fund has been a catalyst for supporting the educational pursuits of individuals in Sierra Leone by providing financial assistance, academic recognition, and social support. We are dedicated to empowering Sierra Leonean students to achieve their academic dreams, fostering a culture of excellence, and contributing to the development and prosperity of Sierra Leone through education.

Managed by a dedicated team of Chicago area members, our mission is to break down financial barriers and create opportunities for academic and national development. Through our scholarships, we aim to provide deserving students with the resources they need to pursue their education, achieve their goals, and contribute positively to their communities. The Fund focuses on identifying and nurturing talented individuals who demonstrate potential and a commitment to excellence.

Our Initiatives

Academic Achievement Awards

Our Academic Achievement Awards recognize the hard work and dedication of Sierra Leonean Students in America. This program encourages students to excel in their academic pursuits.

Scholarship Programs

Our Scholarship Programs provide financial assistance to Sierra Leonean students pursuing their educational goals in Sierra Leone. We offer both merit-based and need-based scholarships to ensure all deserving students have the opportunity to achieve their academic dreams. Scholarships are available for various fields, with special consideration given to those in trade and vocational programs.

Social Support for Sierra Leonean Students in America

Our Social Support initiative offers a welcoming community for Sierra Leoneans. This program aims to foster a sense of belonging, enhance well-being, and support students in their educational journey.
